An Interactive Periodic Chart of the Elements.
This starts out as a standard Periodic Table of the Elements, but becomes much more. With a tap of a button the entire chart becomes color-coded to clearly demonstrate how various chemical properties are distributed across all the elements. Not just the family and metal or non-metal, but state (gas, liquid or solid), electronegativity, radioactivity and more. In addition a slider allows you to see the states and a temperature you select, and even choose a year to see what elements had been discovered at that point in time.
A simplified electron shell diagram helps students see how the electron configuration affects what family an element belongs to.
A 'details' screen includes information a chemistry student needs, along with a brief explanation of the name, symbol, and family - typically the items young students are most curious about.
This app will run on a Kindle Fire and devices with larger screens.
